The Seed Cracker was invented to help with the germination of old genetics that have become weak from old age or improper storage. These old seeds can use a little help in the germination process. By pre cracking the seed it can then use its energy to grow and not waste it trying to bust open a tough shell. In the process of using the Seed Cracker i have started cracking all my seeds. New and old. This is my preference and not the preference of some. I believe if you sterilize the seed, pre cracking will only speed germination. The fastest seed i have sprouted is at 36 hours standing straight up in a peat plug. Directions are on the label.
